Good to know

·Passport or EU identity card required: Montenegro is outside the EU and Schengen, and border queues can add up to an hour in July and August, which is why we leave early
·The currency is the euro, so no exchange is needed
·The boat to Our Lady of the Rocks costs a few euros per person and runs constantly from the Perast waterfront
·The walk up the Kotor walls to St John's fortress is about 1,350 steps; the entrance fee is around 15 euros in season, and the view is worth every step
·Non-EU passport holders get a Montenegrin stamp; EU citizens can travel on an ID card

Questions we get asked

Do I need a passport for Montenegro?+

Yes, a valid passport, or an identity card for EU citizens. Montenegro is not in the EU or Schengen, so you cross a real border in both directions.

Can we add Budva or Sveti Stefan?+

Yes. Budva is about 25 minutes past Kotor; adding it makes the day about an hour longer. Tell the driver in the morning and he plans the timing.

Is this a private tour?+

Yes. The vehicle and the driver are yours for the day; nobody else joins. You set the pace, the stops and the return time.

Is the price per person?+

No, the price is for the whole vehicle. A sedan takes up to 3 or 4 passengers and a van up to 8, so a family or two couples pay the same total.

Are entrance tickets and meals included?+

No. Entrance tickets, ferries for passengers where noted and meals are paid on the spot, so you only pay for what you actually visit. The driver knows the current prices and helps at the ticket desk.

What if I need to cancel?+

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start; the card payment is refunded in full.
