Good to know

·This is a long day: about 450 km each way, roughly five hours of driving in each direction, so we recommend an early start
·Park tickets are bought online for a fixed entry hour; in high season (June to September) an adult ticket costs about 40 euros, less in spring and autumn
·The routes are mostly on wooden walkways and gravel paths: comfortable shoes, water and a light jacket even in summer
·Swimming is not allowed in the lakes; the boat and the panoramic train are included in the ticket
·If you want more than a few hours at the lakes, ask about our multi-day Dubrovnik to Zagreb itinerary, which sleeps next to the park

Questions we get asked

Is a day trip to Plitvice from Dubrovnik realistic?+

It is a long but popular day: roughly five hours of driving each way and three to four hours in the park. With an early start you are back in Dubrovnik in the evening. If that sounds like too much, the same park is a relaxed stop on our multi-day route to Zagreb.

Do I have to book park tickets in advance?+

In high season yes, tickets are sold online for a fixed entry hour and sell out. Tell us your date and we make sure the tickets match the arrival time; you pay the park price with no mark-up.

Is this a private tour?+

Yes. The vehicle and the driver are yours for the day; nobody else joins. You set the pace, the stops and the return time.

Is the price per person?+

No, the price is for the whole vehicle. A sedan takes up to 3 or 4 passengers and a van up to 8, so a family or two couples pay the same total.

Are entrance tickets and meals included?+

No. Entrance tickets, ferries for passengers where noted and meals are paid on the spot, so you only pay for what you actually visit. The driver knows the current prices and helps at the ticket desk.

What if I need to cancel?+

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start; the card payment is refunded in full.
